Riverview Educational Foundation's Commitments to the Riverview School District

"To raise new questions, new possibilities, to regard old problems from a new angle, requires creative imagination and marks real advance in science."

Albert Einstein

Commitment to: Innovation

Innovation—a new method or idea—change, alteration, revolution, metamorphosis, a breakthrough—Oxford American Writer’s Thesaurus

Innovation occurs in all areas of Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts and Math. But innovation looks different and requires different materials, resources, and skills in each of those areas. As students transform from wide-eyed kindergartners to confident seniors, Riverview provides a path that encourages and expects them to be innovative thinkers. Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts, and Math all require students to internalize the basic subjects and then transform what they know into something wholly new and interesting. As the students mature and change, the world does too.

Your donation will ensure that the district can offer the newest pathways for students to take their thinking into new spheres, with state-of-the-art resources and facilities.

Here are some ways that students and the district are experiencing innovation every day:

  • Digital Learning Day
  • Pennsylvania Association for Educational Communications and Technology (PAECT) Student Showcase
  • Keystone Technology Innovators Summit
  • Hands on Student Engineering Opportunity—Hulton Bridge project in conjunction with PennDOT, Breyman Engineering and Riverview Teachers
  • Grants for a Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM) lab
  • Science Grants for classroom activities
  • CyberPatriot, BotsIQ, and other enrichment opportunities

Innovation requires a student to be flexible and observant. The ability to understand the changing world and communicate about it is a highly sought after skill for both employers and colleges.
Riverview is preparing its students to be leaders in innovation in a variety of ways. But the aforementioned experiences are just the beginning. There’s so much more to explore.

Please join us in ensuring that teachers and students have the necessary materials, facilities and knowledge required to excel.
